EASY RIDER 12 DAYS FROM HANOI TO DA NANG VIA HOCHI MINH TRAIL

TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1: HA NOI TO VU LINH VILLAGE VIA THAC BA LAKE - 160 KM

On the first day of the tour, we will briefly introduce you to the itinerary of the motorbike trip. After rush hour finishes at around 9:00 am we will ride to the first destination.

Thac Ba Lake is one of Vietnam's biggest man-made lakes and was constructed in 1970 as part of the Chay River hydropower plant project. There are 13 ethnic minorities living in the area around the lake, including the Tay, Mong, Nung, Phu La, Cao Lan, and Dao.

Here we kayak, explore several caverns and enjoy a tranquil night in a local homestay in the Vu Linh community- the nearby Dao ethnic group.


DAY 2: THAC BA TO SAPA – 230 KM

After breakfast, we walk around Ba waterfall and travel to Sapa. Along the way, you will see rural Vietnam's broad, verdant countryside stretched out before you through several patches of mountain fog.

Our modest convoy travels through dozens of remote towns filled with happy, waving children, crossing knee-deep rivers and thin mountain routes to climb and descend. We arrive at a hotel in Sapa at the end of the day.

 

DAY 3:  SAPA TO MU CAN CHAI– 165 KM

Goodbye SAPA our motorcycle journey continues to MU CAN CHAI, we will ride through O  pass, the most difficult and tortuous pass in the Northwest mountains, with perilous bends.

Then stop at the pass stop, we will see the boundless vastness of the Northwest sky. At 4:30 pm, we will arrive at MU CAN CHAI and have dinner at the hotel.

DAY 4:  MU CANG CHAI TO  XUAN SON NATIONAL PARK– 167 KM

On day 4, we depart MU CAN CHAI in the morning and head to NATIONAL PARK. This area seems like a gem since it is tucked away in one of the Red River's deep valleys, where mountain towns and terraced crops coexist.

After lunch, we cross Lung La pass, a rocky and perilous mountain pass road with a long and magnificent history.

Today will be one of the longest rides but it is one of the most amazing motorcycle rides. Stop at some villages on the way to see the local traditional life. Finish our long day at around 5 pm.

DAY 5:  XUÂN SON NATIONAL PARK TO MAI CHAU – 156 KM

On the 5th day, we conquer the Ho Chi Minh Trail by motorbike bringing us to Xuân sơn  National park to have lunch. We then travel  surrounded by extensive green tea plantations stretching as far as the eye can see covering numerous rolling green hills as far as the eye can see.

The region is also home to stunning traditional Vietnamese hill tribe communities and is particularly well-known for its abundance of exquisite flowers.

Arrive in Mai Chau  around 5:00 pm; we stay with the white Thai at the stilt house.

DAY 6.  MAI CHAU TO  NGỌC LẠC– 165 KM

By the following day, we will leave National park and head to Mai Châu. We will ride through the bamboo groves that line the Ma River. After eating lunch in Cam Thuy, we continue to Mai Chau, where the renowned 

During the war, was the beginning of the legendary Ho Chi Minh trail. This was a meeting place for food supplies and weaponry for the Vietnam War soldiers fighting in the South. We spend the night at the motel in Mai chau.

DAY 7. NGOC LẠC TO NATIONAL BEN EN -  85 KM

After breakfast, we will take our motorcycles down the historical trail to South Vietnam., then we ride to Phong Nha-Ke Bang, the largest and most magnificent cave in Vietnam, It is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.

DAY 8. NATIONAL BEN EN TO PHO CHAU– 185 KM

In the morning, we will trip to see the World Heritage site of . With a day ,  go through then immerse yourselves in the mud bath. After all these activities we will take lunch on the way to another In the afternoon we will visit the magnificent limestone  the second-longest wet limestone cave in the world. We might do a short time riding in the  -  PHO CHAU ( If enough time).

Then, we ride to PHO CHAU, a seaside city that endured heavy US military bombardment during the conflict, and overnight in a hotel.

 DAY 9. PHO CHAU TO PHONG NHA NATIONAL PARK DAY TOUR

DAY 10. DONG HOI TO KHE SANH – 230 KM

After departing Quang Binh, we head to Khe Sanh. Along the way, we stop at the Agent Orange-sprayed foothills and plenty of signs of bombing on the slope. Following that we visit the Vinh Moc tunnel, the Truong Son Cemetery, the iconic Hien Luong Bridge, and Khe Sanh (a former US Marine base).

After a long day of riding, we will have dinner in the homestay and enjoy together some local rice wine called “ Happy Water” by the local people here.

DAY 11: KHE SANH TO HUE – 180 KM

The following day at dawn, we start our journey to Hue. We drive south across the Da Krong Bridge into the famed A Shau Valley, then we visit Hamburger Hill and many barren mountains.

Riding through the spectacular mountain pass, we arrive at Hue, a stunning city along the Huong River's banks. We will have a nice night's rest at the hotel here.

DAY 12: HUE TO DA NANG – 150 KM

We start the final day of our journey with breakfast of Bun Bo Hue - beef noodles. Afterward, we ride around the Huong River and visit Thien Mu Pagoda and Hue Citadel.

Next, we get on National Highway and drive up Hai Van Pass, it is one of Vietnam's most beautiful coastal routes, the pass runs between Hue and Da Nang. We stop for a rest at dream stream for swimming and visit Lang Co Beach along the route, and the scenery is breathtaking.

The 12-day Ho Chi Minh Trail motorbike tour will end at lunchtime, then we will drop you at your hotel in Da Nang.
